Nail it down…
I’m going way back to Dating Boot Camp today. Remember that?
Anyways, Man Panel was asked a question that I keep thinking about. They were asked. What colour nail polish they prefer women to wear. Red, Black or no nail polish: All but one said NO nail polish.
Really? First off let’s point out this is New York City, the city where there just might be more places to get a manni peddi then get a Starbucks. So saying you prefer a woman with no nail polish is like finding a woman without hair.
Here is my thought. Guys (and these man panel guys) LIKE girls in nail polish. Any colour nail polish.
They just don’t like THEIR girl in nail polish.
Boys love girls in sexy nail colours, just like they like girls in short skirts, with makeup and their hair did. But take “their girl” and do her up and regardless of the relationship, they get a tad bit jealous. Just as women get jealous when their man is all dressed sexy and having women fawning all over them.
Nail polish is to show you off, and to make you appear sexual, hence why your man may not want you to wear it.
But saying you prefer all women to not wear nail polish is just a stupid excuse for not saying you don’t want “your lady to appear sexual to others”
So that is that.
Yeah, tell the Man Panel they can stick my 300+ bottles of nail polish up their behind. I am polishing my nails and I don’t care if my man likes it or not. And I will file them nicely too so when I’m scratching his back I don’t damage him too much ;)
very true. kind of wish you went deeper. but yes it is true. i love a sexy come here and sex me nail polish but when my girl is being hit on because she is wearing it i hate that!
I wanted a little sidebar or fact saying what color nail polish you have on now as you typed that.
f-that! I paint my nails for me. I luv looking at them and feeling pretty!

Okay, maybe i’m the oddball but i don’t paint my nails. Now i live in the south, and i type for a living basically- so any nail polish i put on is chipped and cracked by the next day and i just don’t have the patience to keep fixing it.
That being said, my toenails are always painted. Typically some bright purple or green color.
This is shocking. SHOCKING! I’ve always painted my nails, but I’m going to go redo them now just to spite this man panel. I think that you’re right about the motivation behind their disapproval of painted nails, but I doubt that I’ll change my habits if/when I’m off the market again.

I usually get my nails done for special occasions but otherwise it’s just a lot of bother. But I agree with the man panel: my guy friends don’t like it. I think it often qualifies as ‘girl pretty’ (something girls do for other women) instead of ‘guy pretty’ (what they like on girls).
Though my friends tend to prefer ‘cute’ girls, over overt sexiness. Not because they get jealous, but because it’s what they like.
Perhaps it relates to us still being in college and not the NYC (where I’m from btw) working world, or maybe because I’m the ‘cute’ type and it’s what I attract. All I know is saying that these guys are wrong or bizarre because they have their own opinions seems patently biased to me. Let them like what they like! And that way I don’t have to worry about polish XD
Nails are a pretty dumb thing to care about at all in your woman, so I would’ve just answered I don’t care.
It might change the answer if they specified toes or fingers…my ex (and all other men I’ve ever met) wants the chickies to have nice freshly manicured tootsies…however, fingers…they can look cheap/trashy etc. if not fake and/or immediately out of the salon…so i think it also matters more about which nails…
