Oh my, if I got a penny for every boy I've nicknamed. In fact, for a long time I didn't even know their names. It just didn't seem important. I'm much better about that now but I still nickname them (it would be wrong not to). I'm with Dazediva: 'When Mr Nickname has been around in some capacity long enough; he’ll get a name'.

And hun, just 'cos you name him doesn't mean it's any less confusing. But it is a good first step.

That makes sense. I've given nick names or some sort of reference when I am talking about guys that I'm getting to know (not even dating them, but socializing & flirting with).. I don't use their names unless the person I'm talking to actually knows the guy or has met the guy .. By not giving them a 'real identity' you can enjoy the casual flirting without defining the relationship until you're ready. That's when the name comes about. When Mr Nickname has been around in some capacity long enough; he'll get a name.

Mister GAG -- no, I'm pretty good with names, so handling the nickname and the actual name I'm good with. Happy New Year to you as well :)
