Waiting for one to 'pick' me (irl and not) resulted in dating douches. I first messaged my current boyfriend and he did do a lot of wooing after. I think it's how you approach it. He hadn't used the site for a while so never would have seen me but by sending a nice, interesting guy a message I got results. And I messaged a lot of guys where it went no where. I think it's about how much you want it and are willing to work for it. In my opinion being able to message someone should not be the hardest part of a relationship.
