the ruling is in…

There are a lot (and I mean a lot) of ‘do and don’t’ rules for a first date. First off, I hate rules, and I hate rules like this the most. I could rant about this for like days, but I’ll spare you all that. However, to all those out there thinking they know what I should or shouldn’t be doing on a date….go do something unpleasant to yourself.

Ok, yes, I guess the fact that I tend to not follow ‘the rules’ might be one of the reasons I’m single, but really who cares. I sure don’t! But, one thing is for sure: I am pretty predictable. So here is a list of things I will do on our first date. The shoulds (and maybe shouldn’ts) that always come out, and I guess the first date ‘rules’ I live by.

— I will judge you based on the place you picked for us to meet.

— I will drink too much. If we are on a date where I am enjoying myself, and feel comfortable and alcohol is an option I’ll get drunk.

— I’ll make fun of you. In a totally joking manner, and roll off your back kind of way. If you walk your self into it, I’m on it you wont see it coming!

— I ask a lot of questions but I could also babble on forever about myself. If there is silence and we don’t know what to say. This is a bad date!

— I will order food. And if desert is an option you best bet we are getting that too!

— If we are walking I will trip in a hole. No matter how small the hole is I will find it and lose my footing at least once.

— I’ll swear. Words that have been known to come out of my mouth on a date would make my mother cry.

— I’ll order a beer or a gin+tonic way before I agree to get wine with dinner.

— I will wear heels, however I can walk, run, and sprint down the subway stairs in said heels, don’t second-guess it.

(reason #___why I’m single: All of the above?)

    HAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
We would either be the best or worst of lovers ever, cause I do all the same things!!!
Well, except for walking in high heels, I am that annoying whiny bitch that will wear the ridonculous high heels only to take them off in the middle of the bar.

Yup. Me too. If you pick iHOP for I first date, you can bet your ass there ain’t gonna be a second date.

Totally unrelated to dating, but I admire women who can sprint in heels. I can’t even make it 5 hours in heels yet. I fail.

hey star! I’ve never even been to an IHop so I might be pleasantly surprised..lol, but still worth judging!

I think heels is very related, you want to go on a nice stroll, but guys will take one look at your nice tall shoes and say no way. I’ve had at least 4 guys suggest a walk type thing as add on to a date but make a point of point out my shoes and how they want me to be comfortable….so I have to disagree I think a guy knowing you are able to do any activity is a plus on a date….this is why I now wear wetsuits on dates ; )
